Dewey Chism
MCKENZIE, TN - Funeral Services for Mr. DEWEY W. CHISM will be Thursday, January 29, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Brummitt- McKenzie Funeral Home. Burial will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Thursday morning 10:00 a.m. until service time.
Mr. Chism, 75, died Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at his residence in
Union City. Mr. Chism was a teacher, coach and principal and a member of McKenzie Church of Christ where he
was a former deacon. Throughout his life he was a member of the Rotary Club, NEA, TEA,
Carroll County Retired teacher, and an
inductee of Bethel University Sports Hall of
Fame. He also served in the National Guard for eight years. He was born January 22, 1940
in Baldwyn, MS to Jessie Lee and Zelma Dewdrop Ringer Chism. Mr. Chism was preceded in
death by his parents, son Ricky Chism, two brothers Leroy Chism and Charles Chism and a
nephew Adam Chism.
He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Keitha Hatley Chism, son Randy Chism, two
sisters Sue Chism Little and Betty Chism Floyd, eight brothers JW Chism, Kenneth Chism,
Jessie Chism, Jr, David Chism, Jackie Chism, Mitchel Chism, Bill Chism, and JC Chism and
two granddaughters Ashlyn Chism and Caroline Chism..
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to McKenzie Church of Christ

Scholarship at Murray State University (*Fill out form at
