Jessie Lee Chism

MARIETTA [MS] — Jessie Chism, 75, died Thursday [March 27, 1986] at North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer and a member of East Marietta Baptist Church.


Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Waters Funeral Home with the Rev. Benny Griffin and the Rev. Leo Barker officiating. Burial will be in Kirkville Cemetery.


Survivors include his wife, Zelma Dewdrop Chism of Baldwyn; two daughters, Sue Little of Houston, Texas, and Betty Floyd of Dallas, Texas; 11 sons, J.W. Chism of Bryan, Texas, Leroy Chism of Jackson, Dewey Chism of McKenzie, Tenn., Charles Chism of Booneville, J.C. Chism of Pontotoc, Kenneth Chism and Jessie Lee Chism [Jr.], both of Baldwyn, David Frances ("Bo") Chism of West Monroe, La., Jackie Chism of Marietta, Mitch Chism of Baldwyn and Bill Chism of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Boyd Chism of New Albany and Bondie Chism of Helena, Ark.; 28 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
